Building Futures at The Blessing Children’s Home

At SOW Ministries, we believe every child deserves a loving and nurturing environment. A true home is not just defined by walls and furniture; it is the people within it who bring it to life. It is the cherished memories captured in photographs, the laughter shared around the kitchen table, and the comforting aroma of favorite meals being prepared.  

These are ordinary experiences many take for granted, yet they form the foundation of a secure and loving home. For vulnerable children coming from difficult circumstances, these simple moments are life-changing.  

That is why we are launching Building Futures, a campaign dedicated to constructing The Blessing Children’s Home. By blending foster care best practices, insights from existing orphanages, and trauma-informed training, we are building a new model in orphan care that replaces institutional settings with true family units.  

A Blueprint Designed for Safety, Connection, and Healing

Our vision centers on constructing six family houses on our property. Each 2,500-square-foot home is designed to function just like a traditional family home:  

• 5 Bedrooms & 2 Bathrooms: Accommodating 8 children per home, with 2 children sharing a bedroom to balance privacy with companionship.  

  
  

• Designed for Safety: Smaller household sizes foster a deep sense of belonging while significantly reducing the risk of child-on-child abuse.  

  
  

• Shared Family Spaces: Every home features a kitchen, living room, laundry room, and plenty of storage, with living areas facing the community playground.  

  
  

• Dedicated House Parents: A master bedroom with an attached bath ensures consistent, loving caregivers reside in each house.  

  
  

Each completed two-level building (5,000 total square feet) houses 16 children across two separate family units with independent entrances. Upon completion, all six houses will provide a nurturing family environment for 48 children.  

The Bigger Vision: Intergenerational Community Care

The Blessing Children’s Home is more than just housing for kids. It is an integrated, holistic community designed to break cycles of vulnerability through every stage of life:  

• Holistic Care for Youth: Providing 48 children and 9 babies with complete physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual support.  

  
  

• Supportive Casitas for Widows: Constructing 6 dedicated casitas for widows who will serve as grandmas to the children, sharing their wisdom and skills while building intergenerational bonds.  

  
  

• Young Adult Transition Home: Establishing a dedicated transition home for 12 young adults to receive life skills training, academic support, and community guidance as they move into independent adulthood.  

  
  

• Hands-On Mission Engagement: Welcoming visiting mission teams to serve alongside us, building physical homes and sharing Christ's love through personal connection.  

  
  

Our Goals: How We Get There Together

To turn this blueprint into a reality for the children and widows we serve, we have set three clear funding tiers:  

• Baseline Goal ($350,000): Build 2 Family Homes.  

  
  

• Challenge Goal ($1,050,000): Complete all 6 Family Homes.  

  
  

• Faith Goal ($2,500,000): Fully complete the entire community vision, including the transition home and widow casitas.
