A Real Story

When six-year-old Maria and four-year-old Jennifer arrived at The Blessing Children’s Home, they came with nothing but one set of pajamas. No suitcases, no favorite toys, and hearts heavy with fear.

After years of sleeping on a cold dirt floor, enduring severe hunger, and witnessing domestic abuse and addiction, their first night with us was full of firsts: a warm bath, clean pajamas, and their very own soft beds.

At first, the girls were quiet and hesitant, almost waiting for the safety to disappear. But day by day, fear gave way to laughter. Today, Maria and Jennifer are thriving. Maria quickly learned to write her name and has become one of the top students in her class, while Jennifer has found her voice and loves going to school with her friends.

Instead of just trying to survive another day, these sisters are healing, trusting, and dreaming about who they will become.

Every child deserves a safe home where they are loved, cared for, and given the room to thrive. This is why we do what we do.

How can you serve?

We all have God given gifts and talents that we can use to make an impact for God's kingdom. We have seen 6 year old children come & serve food, help build window screens, help paint a new room, & give out birthday gifts to children in need.  It's amazing what God does when we step out in faith and serve others.

Do not fall into the trap thinking you need to do something "BIG" that will get noticed by many or go viral on social media.  Jesus gave us a great example, He spent His last dinner washing the disciples feet.  While they were thinking of who would be greatest, He was demonstrating the humble act of serving others.  He set this example and many others and said Go & do likewise.

How can you use your gifts and talents to help orphans & widows in need?  The need is great and the workers are few, but we know that God will provide everything needed to do His will.  What Is God calling you to do?  Pray, seek Him, He will show you.

What Does Impact Really Look Like?

Impact doesn't always look like a donation.

Sometimes impact looks like building a wall or fixing a leaking toilet. Sometimes it looks like holding a baby so a caregiver can rest, or sharing a warm meal around a table with a widow.

Some pray. Some give. Some serve. Some go. We are all called to do something.

It takes every single one of us working together to bring lasting hope to vulnerable children and families.
