Simple Joys, Lasting Impact: A Beach Day

This summer, we had the joy of taking the teenagers from Casa de Mi Familia (one of our partner orphanages) to the beach for a day full of sun, sand, and laughter. There’s something truly special about watching teenagers from different walks of life bond over boogie boarding or chasing each other with water guns. Shared experiences like these—whether splashing in the waves, playing games, or enjoying a cookout together—create space for genuine connection across language, culture, and background. We’re so grateful for Destiny Fearless's willingness to serve and step outside their comfort zones, making these memorable outings possible and helping the teens feel seen and valued.

For these teens, a day at the beach isn’t just recreation—it’s a chance to experience the kind of carefree play that is vital for healthy development. Swimming, playing volleyball, or laughing over carne asada may seem simple, but these are the moments that build confidence, ease stress, and remind them what it feels like to just be a kid. For a child growing up in an orphanage, so much of their life has already felt uncertain or heavy, and having space to laugh and play freely helps restore a sense of normalcy and brings healing. We are so thankful for the individuals, businesses, and churches who partner with us to make these moments possible.
