How It All Started
Serving Orphans & Widows (S.O.W.) Ministries started in response to James 1:27: "Religion that God the Father accepts as pure & faultless is this: to look after orphans & widows in their distress & to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." After coming down to Mexico from Northern California & seeing great need, Travis & Amber Owen were led to start S.O.W. Ministries in obedience to the clear call from God's Word.
It is their desire to live out their faith, & to demonstrate God's love to the vulnerable and "forgotten" people. They believe that the Bible is the written & inspired Word of God, & that He is the same yesterday, today & forever. He is the God who provides not only for their family, but for the children, widows & single moms that they serve as well.
